Good Old Car
1996 Oldsmobile Achieva SC 2dr Coupe
My 1996 2 door V6 automatic Achieva is a great car, overall it's been very dependable. It was purchased for me about 5 1/2 years ago. If I was to pick a car, this would not be it, but since it was purchased for me I can't complain. It's been a great car, fun to drive with lots of power. The style and look of the car is very "grandparent'ish" but the two door is much better than four door at least. Good back up car to drive to and from work or as a kids first car, nothing to fancy. And gets pretty good gas mileage. Now that its over 12 years old its starting to see some problems with water leaking in, but drill a few holes in the floor and its manageable. Overall, it's been a good ride.

I've riden this car hard and soft, _x000D_ twice back and forth from Maryland to _x000D_ Florida and it's still my daily driver _x000D_ and runs great. Bought it with 87K and _x000D_ now has 99K in 9 months. Also _x000D_ installed dual exhaust and K&N air _x000D_ intake. Car pushes ~155hp~ and runs a _x000D_ 15.92 1/4 mile on a 5-spd manual _x000D_ tranny...not to shabby.
Fun and Economics

It is a fun car to drive. When I test _x000D_ drove it I swear it had a v-6. The GM _x000D_ quad-4 engine is very stong. It also _x000D_ gets great milage. The seats are _x000D_ comforable and the interior is nicly _x000D_ laid out. I have made many long trips _x000D_ in olds. and comfort was never a _x000D_ problem. The engine is very strong _x000D_ and works well both on anf off the _x000D_ highway.

i test drove many cars, including a _x000D_ `94 mustang GT, and this one beat em _x000D_ all. zips to 60mph, super comfortable, _x000D_ very nice look, and great handling. _x000D_ car can whip around turns. engine _x000D_ produces a nice roar when gas is _x000D_ floored. for the power, i average _x000D_ around 28mpg. very very nice. you get _x000D_ camaro/mustang/firebird performance in _x000D_ a smaller, more economical design. _x000D_ large trunk space too.
My Under-Achieva
1996 Oldsmobile Achieva SC 2dr Coupe
Bot 96 Achieve SC in Aug 98. Had 12.5k _x000D_ mi. By Feb99 veh left me sitting 6 _x000D_ times.Engine stall, sputter, panel _x000D_ lights flash on/off then engine died. _x000D_ Security sensors it took at least 10 _x000D_ min to restart engine._x000D_ Under warranty, Olds dealerships had _x000D_ lots of difficulty diag. Fall 99 dealer _x000D_ kept veh 3 wks. Dealer maint and manu _x000D_ couldn't find problem._x000D_ Sol:replaced all sensors._x000D_ 3 yrs and 67k more miles car was ok. _x000D_ Still thought about when it would leave _x000D_ me sitting again._x000D_ _x000D_ Finally did Nov 02 & Jan03. 3 stall _x000D_ outs. Maint found no problem. Not _x000D_ comfortable with vehicle. Gave it away _x000D_ for tax writeoff. _x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_
